Grounding Table

Sharing the memories of the past, the ideas of the present and the promise of the future, design for the ground forges connections to, and deepens our relationship to the earth and to each other.

Grounding Table in local ash with indigo dye.
This low table invites a shift in posture, perspective, and pace. By looking at rituals of gathering and presence, I designed the table to be sat around on the floor, encouraging a sense of equality and intimacy, and breaking from the hierarchy of Western dining furniture.
Crafted from locally sourced ash, the piece embodies a quiet material honesty. Its simplicity is deliberate and offers a platform for stillness, connection, or quiet ritual.
In dyeing the legs, I sought to ‘ground’ the table not only physically, but symbolically as if dipped into the earth or held in deep water.
